Measuring instructions

📏 Pleated curtains (single / double pleat / wave)

Measure width:

Measure the full width of the curtain rail , from left to right.

Don't have a curtain rail yet? Add 20 cm to both sides of the window or the entire wall from left to right, and then add about 10 cm to ensure the curtain overlaps the window properly.

We provide the correct amount of folds based on this width – so you don't have to take it into account.

Measure height:

Measure from the bottom of the rail to the desired length.

Floor-length: subtract 1-2 cm so that the curtain hangs just above the floor.

To the windowsill: deduct about 1 cm so that the curtain hangs nicely above the windowsill.

For a trailing look: add 2–5 cm extra to the total height.

Note: For pleated curtains, the hooks hang approximately 1 cm below the rail. For single and double pleats, the curtain hooks can be adjusted by a few centimeters.

Ring curtains (with punched-in rings for a rod)

Measure width:

Measure the length of the rod on which the curtain will hang (without the decorative ends).

For optimal overlap and a luxurious appearance, we recommend making the rod at least 15–20 cm wider than the window on both sides.

Measure height:

Measure from the top of the rod to the desired bottom edge of the curtain.

To the floor: deduct 1 to 2 cm.

To the windowsill: subtract 1 cm.

For a trailing effect: add 2–5 cm.

The top of the curtain will rise approximately 3–4cm above the rod due to the rings – take this into account when calculating the total height.
